What Is IFA?

IFA is the self described awesome machine. Post thoughts, images, video embeds, and mp3's. Let the world know that your user.isfuckingaweso.me.

Registration

Go here and see if your desired username is available. Complete the form, confirm the email sent to your email address, and you're golden.

Profile

Your profile is where you can tell the world about yourself or anything you desire. Click the 'edit page' from your main profile domain.

Page

You can customize the profile title, description, and upload a profile image or background image. The profile description follows all the same rules for auto-linking and embedding (see below). You can also customize your posting email address here (see below).

Streetcred

What other popular sites do you use around the intertubes? Your streetcred is part of what makes you so fucking awesome. Use the services section to complete all the sites you belong to.

Posting

Posting to this site is pretty straight-forward. You get a title and a body along with two different upload types (one image and mp3 file per post). There's a 500 character limit for the body of your posts. We don't allow posting XML, HTML, or JavaScript content. Instead, we offer auto-linking and embedding.

Auto-Linking and Embedding

In order to take advantage of the auto-linking and embedding, your post body will need to follow some basic rules.

• Avoid using <, >, &, "
• Url's are automatically linked when preceded and followed by a space and contain http:// or https://
• Images are automatically embeded for urls with .jpg, .jpeg, .png, and .gif.
• Videos are automatically embeded for urls from dailymotion, funnyordie, hulu, metacafe, myspace video, viddler, vimeo, and youtube.
• Mixtapes are automatically embeded for 8tracks.
• @user replies are automatically linked when preceded and followed by a space.

You can comment on a post. Click the 'Leave new comment' link on a post to get started.

Email Posting

Customize your email posting address to send updates from your outbox. To do this, click the 'edit page' link on your profile. Complete the following form and click save:

Tweet Posting

Complete the service for twitter with your username and we'll autopost all tweets you send hashed with #ifa. We scan twitter every 10 minutes looking for #ifa. There might be a slight delay in posting. Right now, we don't have the ability to post to twitter from IFA. We'll look into it once oAuth support on twitter is released.
